The small goat farming village of Tindaya sits at the foot of the Tindaya Mountain.

The mountain was considered to be sacred by the pre-Spanish locals. For this reason it continues to be known as 'The Sacred Mountain' (Montaña Sagrada.)

More than 100 foot carving exist within this mountain, and these are believed to keep evil spirits at bay.
